Inspiration and past projects

In my own time i am inspired by embellishment, embroidery, cross stitching and making my own garments.
I feel that i enjoy the more textile side of fashion due to simple shaped garments with a lot of added detail.
My tasks for the second year is to learn more about block making and changing patterns to more experienced shapes. As i feel i would be able to achieve this if i work to the best of my ability.
I have visited a lot of textile shows and museums including knitting exhibitions, Birmingham clothes show, Vivienne Westwood exhibition, Victoria and Albert Museum, exhibition's in Paris and Temple Newsam wallpaper exhibition.

IMAGES OF PAST COLLECTIONS.
The images show collections i have made in the past the collection was based on 'Thrash'. I wanted to make a collection that made an impact on the catwalk.

More garments I have made

The images show garments I have made for past projects for my national diploma and GCSE.
The money puffball dress taught me how to transfer and print onto fabric, it also introduced me to eyelets and embellishment. The dress was based on Karen 'O' from the band The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Images also include a skirt based on the sixties, an old T- Shirt which i have added embellishment to and cut up, a suspender skirt based on Punk and a beach puffball dress.
I feel that studying a national diploma for two years has helped me an awful lot as i now know the basic skills to start me off with my degree.
I feel i have to availability to change a pattern to my own design and i also feel confident with dart manipulation.
I need to work on making blocks as i have only done this once, although i found it easy once i got the hang of it.
